why I got into skincare…
I’ve struggled with acne from a young age, and finding a solution that actually worked was a challenge. I spent countless dollars on trendy products that either didn’t deliver any results or made my skin worse. Frustrated, I decided to dive into researching how skin actually works, hoping to find products and treatments that would truly heal my skin. In doing my own research and learning more about internal health from my mother who is a naturopath, I was able to finally clear my skin after struggling with acne for 10+ years!
This experience led me into the field of aesthetics to help not only myself, but others as well. I became a Licensed Esthetician in 2023 and a Certified Advanced Esthetician in 2024 with Spectrum Advanced Aesthetics. I have since continued my education by becoming a Certified Acne Expert with Face Reality to expand my knowledge on acne treatment, and broadened my experience with advanced treatments – like laser and microneedling – by working at a reputable med spa in Portland. This is in addition to managing “Skin by Cedar Avery” (my own practice). Skin by Cedar Avery was created as a way to offer my clients real results while also offering a relaxing, personalized experience that I felt was missing in many med spa environments. While my primary focuses are acne treatment and aging skin, I treat many other concerns as well. What i stand for as a provider
I chose to be an esthetician to help people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. My goal is to change my clients’ skin the same way I changed mine and help everyone see a difference – regardless of budget – and to treat skin from a holistic perspective. This involves addressing lifestyle, health, and diet issues.
Running an ethical business is so important to me, too. I want my clients to feel like they can trust me to recommend the best products and treatments FOR THEM. I promise to make the best personalized recommendations for each client. I’ll be honest about expected outcomes from each treatment and I’ll spend time educating you on how to care for your skin. I’ll also recommend other professionals if I feel you would benefit more from a treatment that I don’t offer. I can assure you that I will only provide procedures that I am well trained in and will always offer the best products I can find on the market. As my client you can expect the best possible, personalized care.
